About this programme
Leadership in northern Ghana has historically been male-dominated, but that narrative is changing. The Female Leadership Summit creates a dedicated space where aspiring and established women leaders converge to share experiences, build skills, and forge networks of mutual support. It is a platform designed to accelerate women's leadership at every level — from the classroom to the boardroom, from local councils to national platforms.
The Summit brings together women from diverse backgrounds: educators, entrepreneurs, health professionals, civil servants, and community organisers. Over the course of the event, participants engage in workshops on advocacy, public speaking, decision-making, and strategic leadership. Established women leaders serve as mentors, sharing their journeys and offering practical guidance on navigating the unique challenges women face in leadership roles.
Beyond the Summit itself, the programme fosters ongoing mentorship relationships and creates a growing alumni network of women who support one another long after the event concludes. Participants return to their communities equipped not only with new skills, but with the confidence and connections to step into leadership roles — in their schools, workplaces, and local governance structures.

Leadership Workshops
Interactive sessions covering advocacy, public speaking, negotiation, strategic planning, and decision-making — all designed to build practical leadership competencies.
Mentorship and Networking
Pairing emerging women leaders with established mentors, and creating structured opportunities for participants to build lasting professional and personal support networks.
Community Action Projects
Encouraging Summit participants to apply their learning by designing and leading small-scale community initiatives, with ongoing support from the PDF-GH team.
Who it serves
Girls and women at all stages of leadership — The Summit is designed for senior high school girls beginning their leadership journey, young women in tertiary education and early careers, and established women professionals seeking to expand their impact. The programme is particularly focused on reaching women from rural and underserved communities across northern Ghana.
